Facebook will have its own mail?

Particularly, I quite like Google Mail, Gmail. Moreover, our company decided to use Google technology to our mailings. From experience, it seems much more robust, more secure and far more versatile than Hotmail. I was glad that there appeared a new email where the monopoly was occupied by Hotmail and Yahoo (the latter seems very good too), it is never bad some healthy competition, especially beneficial to us as users.
However, I just read a news story that I knew that at some point would be intended to read it.The news is on facebook and its own mail, and as if this were not enough, its competition is looking at Gmail!. This last caused me much laughter, I usually use facebook, and I think that since they have done things, will have to do much work to overcome or at least equal to Gmail. Mark Zuckerberg’s platform is pretty poor, internal chat fails constantly, making me lose patience too often. If  they plan to deploy an email in the same way that Facebook implemented, I will continue using Gmail for ever and ever!.

While not yet made any official announcement, the project called “Project Titan” is eyeing to Gmail. What would provide an advantage to the creators of the social network is that users could use their usernames, which would add only “@ facebook”.

Email is increasingly tied to the identity of persons, so that Facebook, one of the world’s most widely used platforms, it can become a good alternative mail.

Although the idea remains under lock, it was mentioned the last half of 2010 as the tentative date for the launch event.
